Ever join a discord and see these cool little blue tags next to names? that means theyre bots. Theyre not real users, and their entire porpouse is to make the server owner and server members lives easier. Lets go over some common bots and their uses!

Rhythm is a music bot. The whole porpoise of it is to play high quality music into a call. It may not work as alot of music bots were sued by YouTube for ad revenue, but regardless, it is still a beloved bot
YAGPDB (commonly known as Yaggers or Yag) is the safest, general porpoise discord bot. Between creating self assign roles, having its own internal ticket system, the ability to set up its own complex automod, It is a well known discord bot~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Another general porpouse bot commonly used is Carlbot, but its a bit out of date, and harder to code than Yaggers

Pluralkit is a bit of a more complex bot, commonly used in bigger servers. People who have DID or other identity disorders use this bot to create psudo accounts to allow their alters to have more individuality. another common psudo account bot is Tupperware
The next common bot to see is Tickets. In servers where moderators dont want to be messaged, a ticket bot is commonly used to allow Mods to talk to people. Reasons for opening tickets could be to alert moderators to server issues, talk about interpersonal issues, and to give warnings to users who break the rules.

The last common bot to see is Starboard. If someone thinks that a message is funny, smart, or just in need of more recognition, they can react to the message with a Star. If enough users react to the same message with a star, the bot will put it in its own custom chat, commonly named "starboard"
Roles are commonly used to help identify certain things about a user. For most servers, that can be preferred pronouns, notification and DM preferances, what color they want their name, and more. A user properly mantaining their roles may look like this:
Roles are server specific, and must be set up individually by each server's moderation team. For more information, please look at the "specific roles" section
